The measurements on the board are VERY hard to read, especially the creamy/white colored numbers within the blue lines. I don’t wear glasses but even grabbed and pair of old “readers” I found in a drawer. Nope. I literally had to snap a picture and stretch it so I could see the measurements. Is it 3/8, 5/8, 7/8?? I understand that these are their brand colors, but these colors along with the very small font size are not a good combination, IMO. This is probably the most aggravating part of this tool. I think I’m going to enlarge a pictures of the measurement guide and put it in my desk drawer. Also, I find it hard to feel if I’m in the right spot/in the groove for scoring when I start with the tool in the upper/center of the board (inserted into the punch housing) as recommended. If I’m using a little thicker paper (and sometimes just normal paper), I often end up with a bad score because I can’t tell if I’m actually in the score track when starting out. I prefer to start the score from the right lower edge of the board because I can see the trajectory of the score track and never mess up the score. Also, the punch itself seems a little flimsy when I push down on it, so I’m hoping it is sturdier than it feels. The directions are not very clear, especially with regard to the purpose of the score guide. Finally figured that out. The video mentions it, but you can’t really see that what she’s doing is lining up the score she just made with that guide. It goes over that part so quickly, and though she comments that you only need to measure once, there is not a close up shot showing what she is doing. It seems unnecessary to me anyway because the measuring bar is right there so why. It just measure it?? All in all, I think this is going to be useful, but mostly just wish it was easier to read!!I saw this tool on a YouTube video, and I had to buy it. It works great, super easy to use, and saves me time and money ordering envelopes. It has a built in corner rounder which is helpful in a bunch of my projects. Buy this.Like making cute envelopes to go with the cards I make. Wish I had known about these sooner as I've seen the gray ones in pictures and I wish I had one of those because this one is a bit hard for me to read the numbers with the glare Iget (although I love aqua blue) on the size chartAfter a few YouTube videos to figure out how to use this, I love it!Took me 8 mins to figure out using a tutorial .I can know make any size paper into envelopes.I am obsessed!I wanted help with making envelopes for small square cards & not only does this make square cards it makes all sizes & they look very professional. A great buy!Love the corner rounders. There are a few things that could be improved on. The instructions were a little unclear. We needed to watch a video on you tube in order to figure out how to use it. It is a great idea. The other problem is the markings as far as the sizes for the envelopes is blurry, so it is hard to figure out if you have the correct measurements.Clear instructions re size of paper/card, as well as what to do, produces perfect envelopes every time. I watched a Youtube video to perfect the technique (it also showed how to turn a simple envelope into an envelope gift box that can hold at least half a dozen cards and envelopes - impressive and useful). I love the additional function of the punch that rounds the corners. I will be using this a lot to make both envelopes and the boxes for gifts of sets of cards.I've had this board for a while now and decided to update my review because I've found it more versatile than I imagined. My envelope boxes with sets of cards have been much appreciated .Then, I came across a paper 'engineer' on Youtube (Linda Parker) whose imagination is incredible and whose instructions are very clear; she uses this to make delightful little mugs/teacups and gift boxes with lids (among other things). I've had enormous fun copying her makes.I also use it to make pretty liners for my bulk buy, plain white envelopes by making envelopes using thin decorative paper (I make small cards and find the 6 x 6 inch origami papers are fabulous for this size envelope); I cut them in half and tweak the folds slightly and get two liners. So I purchased this some time ago now and have used it extensively for envelopes.I get a lot of use out of this and feel it was good value for money. As I have real problems with numbers, I downloaded the app and it makes it an absolute breeze to get the size you want. I have up with the charts printed on the top, it was just taking me too long to work it all out.Once you have the size of paper/card you need and the score line, it is so simple and I will never go back to buying boring envelopes again. If there is one thing I am disappointed with, it is the size. 9 out of 10 times the card/paper size I need means that it extends off the side of the board (and these are not large envelopes). This means that it is difficult to score the entire section required. If you are using card, it is difficult to actually feel the score line to score successfully. After quite a few failed attempts I now have the knack of getting round this. If it just had an extending arm like some I have seen it would make a massive difference.I have not made boxes with this, but I’m sure it would make reasonable small ones - this is just not something I am interested in working out.If you are interested in anything other than small envelopes- go for something bigger or for something with an extension arm, you won’t regret it.I like it.Arrived very promptly and well packaged.I like the product.. But I'm not totally sure all the measurements are accurate. I've read other people have had the same problem. Still a good product but would be better if the markings were better and also related to actual envelope sizes! Edit: there is now an app available to calculate the sizes for this little punchboard! It's called envelope generator and it's free ??Definitely would recommend for any greetings card making enthusiast. I usually make greetings cards in many sizes, so figuring out the exact envelope sizing each time is an effort. Especially scalpeling to give rounded corners.I should have bought this product long ago.Pros:-Comes with a variety of enevelope sizes, with additional info sheets in both cm and inchs-Nice clean punche cuts to give the envelopes corners a more professional rounded off look.-I’ve used thicker card to test, rather than usual 100gsm paper and it seems fine.Cons:-Took me about 15m to understand exactly how it worked. But once you get the knack it’s pretty straight forward.-(more of a preference then a con) but preferred the grey board version over the white, which they don’t cont any more.If there’s one thing they could add, would be a little collection box beneath the board to collect the corner bits when punched.Other than that, great product!!
