Perfect Option if its Time to Replace Your Ice Maker
We have ice again! We originally replaced the valve (that determines when to send water to the ice maker), but the new valve didn’t fix the problem of our ice maker not working. My son and I manually flushed the line that runs from valve to ice maker to ensure that there were no obstacles in the line. My son found this ice maker on Amazon. Since it was a fraction of the price of buying the OEM ice maker, I decided to take a chance on it. I’m glad that I did. Although I rarely use ice in my water, the rest of my family views ice as a necessity. They are now happy again; especially after having no automatic ice maker for the past two years.I have a Kenmore Refrigerator model no. 106.56863600. Original ice maker model number 2212352. This fit and only took a few minutes to install. The only problem I had is the cup (where the water fills) on the right side is taller than the old one. Was able to get it in by bending the water tube up towards me as I slid in the new ice maker. But that is a complaint on ALL of the aftermarket ice makers for this model that I’ve seen reviews for.The icemaker has been working for about a month and I can't tell the difference between it and the original that came with the refrigerator. It was slightly difficult to install because the water inlet chute/funnel is taller than the original and the inlet water tube wasn't especially easy to bend and insert into the chute. This worked just fine for our Kenmore fridge. With the help of a "you tube" video... install was pretty easy.Take your time. Its nice to have a working ice machine again. :-)I was very satisfied with my replacement ice maker. I am 72 years old a female and it was very easy to install. Thank you for a good product.Perfect fit for my 14 yr old Kenmore Elite even though the website says it would not guarantee it as a match. Removing the old one was harder than installing this new one. Because the old one's clip got stuck. Been working well since installation.Old one was leaking/dripping, and adjusting the timer didn’t help. Like the self help YouTube videos say, after adjusting the timer doesn’t work the best option is to just replace it. We have ice again (without the icicles).!!Had to make one small modification to the water inlet.( Mine is pretty old so that wasn't about to bother me.) Started right up making ice. I did have to adjust the water height in the mold but, there's an adjustment for that. At this price, I'm happy!
