I have tried other egg rings in the past that either leaked at a seam by the folding handle or foamed weirdly when reacting with the silicone ring or more teflon flakes in my eggs than pepper. These, however, are great. There are mixed reviews against these rings but not insurmountable. Like any metal cooking device, these need to be seasoned and the sticking problem goes away. As for the hot handle, a simple 1-1/4 in length of 1/2 in i.d. silicone tubing is a great fix (see picture). I use these regularly instead of being relegated to the unused junk drawer.Update: I was considering removing one star because I dropped a ring and the handle snapped off, indicating weak spotwelds, but I left it at five because these are still the best rings I have ever used.Also, an upgrade: the addition of the silicon sleeve works/worked great. However, over time they start to slip. A simple fix is to use smaller diameter tubing. I have a large stainless steel skillet and make 4 or 5 at a time. I just lay the Winkeyes down into the skillet and spray both them and the skillet with cooking spray, then use my fingers to even it out on the inside of the Winkeyes and bottom of the pan. For pancakes, I leave them on until I'm ready to turn them (about 5 minutes). The batter does not spill out below the ring and it does not stick to the ring. Note: Your pancakes will be perfectly round and rather tall; therefore, I don't stack them, but just place them together on a plate, sort of stacked on the edge to make them look very pretty. I melt butter and pour it over the pancakes.These are great! Work well in my cast iron pans as well as the blackstone griddle. I use just a dab of butter and have little to no sticking. They do get a little hot but if you got tough hands you can pull them off no problem. I have several cooks on them and no issues so far.These heavy-duty high-quality ring molds are ... perfect! They are the right size (diameter and height), the right material (stainless steel), the right production values (insanely smooth seams, rounded edges, structurally sound thickness, useful grab tabs to lift-and-separate). For example, with a little oil wiped on the inside (and smeared on the griddle), they make excellent! forms to hold crumpet batter. So easy to use, so easy to clean, so easy to release with a gentle shake if needed. They are ... perfect!I like how well these are made, heavy and sturdy enough. As others have said, which because its stainless steel I know, you must oil or spray inside of ring to reduce sticking. And always be sure NOT to use your fingers to remove it from the pan. But I LOVE it, it works exactly how I wanted. Thank you!Love these rings. I've used them for eggs and homemade sausage patties. I personally wouldn't use for pancakes as the diameter is too small. They work great and are easy to clean. Be sure to spray with oil for non-stick. Do not use your hand to pick up by the handle as it gets hot. Grab the handles with tongs. I tried the silicone versions too. These are easier to work with and I expect them to last longer.These are sturdy, but because you use them in a pan, the handles should be made of something that doesn't conduct heat. The handles get very hot and you can remove them. Also, the food sticks terribly to the rings. They should be made of some nonstick product. I wish I had known that before purchasing. I would have looked at a better version of this product.These work ! I put a little butter in the middle of the ring when pan gets hot. Melt it out to the circle then drop in the egg. Once the whites are white pull the ring flip your egg put down the English muffin in the toaster and get ready to enjoy.Sturdy thick metal and easy to clean. Would recommend.Excellent for frying eggs without the egg spreading all over the frying pan.
