Pre-Infusion Mode Merchant Video Pre-Infusion Mode · Press and hold the power button for about 5 seconds to activate Pre-Infusion Mode. The indicator light will flash twice. · During Pre-Infusion, the indicator will continue to flash throughout the brewing process. · To exit Pre-Infusion Mode, press and hold the power button again for more than 5 seconds. This is my third Bonavita 5-cup coffee maker. The first one lasted less than a year because I did not follow the instructions to descale it regularly. The second one was still working fine after eight years of daily use, but the carafe was beginning to leak, and it seemed to take longer to brew. Of all the machines on the market, this one seems to come closest to a true pour-over function, heating and spraying only a few ounces of water two or three times a minute. It even has an option to do a brief initial pour to trigger the "bloom" that brings out the flavor of newly roasted and freshly ground beans and then pausing before continuing the pour-over. It is also an ideal size for pour-over brewing, which works best with less than five cups.
