The reviews on this coffee got me very excited to gift to my husband. Unfortunately, Amazon shipped this bag of beans in a large ENVELOPE and when I got it, the coffee bag was damaged and had holes all in it. The coffee bag was also very dirty and had greasy marks all over it, as if someone with dirty hands was packaging it. I did not feel safe enough to even open it up and see if the coffee was fresh because of the condition the packaging was in. I'd love to try this coffee, however, I'd never purchase it again from Amazon.A bag of Cooper’s Cast Coffee weighs 16oz—yup, an actual 1 pound bag of coffee. That was one of the main reasons I originally purchased the coffee. Brand loyal to a fault with the exception of coffee beans, it was easier to order 12 bags/per qtr in a variety of brands with a variety of price points. All bags were good coffee, but nothing made me jump out of my chair to check the brand after the first sip of morning coffee. That was until purchasing 3 bags of Cooper’s Cast Coffee in a recent 12 bag quarterly coffee buy.Unpacking 12 bags of various brands of coffee beans at the same time is most interesting in that the quality of packaging material used as well as the entire sealing process varies greatly and most are not that good when compared to great. Cooper’s Cast Coffee exceeded expectations for both quality packaging material and best sealing process.And the back of the bag “smell test”, ahhh...exceeded expectations.Yes—Cooper’s Cask Coffee was an immediate “open now” with absolutely no concern for what was already open. My bean preference tends to view a smaller bean with a somewhat defined shape as far superior to a bigger, flatter, more brittle bean along with a limited amount of residual oil on the beans. Too much residual oil on the beans is a big “no can do” and ultimately makes a big, huge mess inside most espresso machines.Although the criteria used for my review may be very different than yours, morning coffee definitely sets the tone for the day. Change for the sake of change is not my thing; however, after Cooper’s Cask Coffee clearly WOW, WOW, WOW’d me—change is an easy “must-do” decision.This coffee has been my favorite for years. Smooth and flavorful.We all have a flavor we are looking for when buying these off the beaten path coffee's. To me, this is not bad at all but not a home runA good coffee blend.I am a self admitted coffee snob. I love fresh ground beans and coffee from all over the world. From the minute I opened the bag, the aroma of the perfectly roasted beans hit me. My roommate laughed when I stuck my face into the bag and just took several deep breathes. (He doesn't drink coffee, weirdo) From the 1st sip of the freshly brewed coffee you earned a 2nd purchase from me, I have to make sure it wasn't a fluke of course (feel free to send me a bag for testing, I won't mind) This coffee exceeded my expectations on every level, and my expectations were high to begin with. This was a fantastic decision and if you're on the fence like I was, jump over it and enjoy a fantastic batch of flawlessly roasted beans. There aren't enough adjectives to properly describe just how good this coffee is.I've been trying a lot of different kinds of single origin coffee beans, ranging from medium to dark roasts. After acquiring the tastes for a lot of new coffees, a medium/dark roast sounded like it should be perfect for my tastes. This particular bean was pretty good, but not spectacular. The beans were fresh and aromatic, but the flavor just fell sort of flat for me. Not a bad coffee by any means, but nothing special.I'm neither a coffee maniac nor a gourmet. I'm confident to distinguish, however, between excellence and mediocrity as other people recognize.So far I didn't like dark roast because of bitterness..although it's very popular in the US. So, my favorite one is Hawaii Kona. because of the acidity with sweetness and the flavor. Knowing that Kenyan AA coffee is very popular in European countries , I tried to brew it after I chose it at Amazon because of the package,. Everything fits my preference better than any other sellers. I did the right thing!First, a very subtle fruity taste spreads in my mouth and a gentle aroma follows up with comfortable acidity. Lastly, I can taste a mild bitterness that so far I would have hated. So, I'm enjoying it every morning.If you enjoy a different dimension of the coffee world, you should buy this.
